Small Steps Food Co-op in Lenton every Wednesday
Tuesday, 08 April 2008

The Small Steps Food Co-op is now up and running every Wednesday, 12-2pm, at The Lenton Centre on Willoughby Street. The Co-op sells a fantastic selection of seasonal fruit and vegetables for just £3 per bag. The Forum would like to see this co-op get bigger and better but this can only happen if volunteers come forward to help run the project. Can you spare some time to help? Visit the co-op at The Lenton Centre or contact Fiona Corbett at the Forum office.

Please spread the word – we want more local people to come along and buy their fruit and veg at Small Steps!

New for residents of Lenton flats
Monday, 12 May 2008

Many residents at the Lenton high-rise flats have expressed an interest in setting up a community room. The Forum has been running drop-in sessions at The Lenton Centre for the last few weeks to meet with residents and talk about their ideas for a community room. We have also delivered questionnaires to residents to ask for opinions and ideas. If you haven’t already received a form, contact Fiona at the Forum office – your views are important!

The Forum, in partnership with COMPASS, has now organised a Breakfast Club for residents each Thursday, 10am until noon, at The Lenton Centre on Willoughby Street. The Breakfast Club will start running on Thursday 22nd May 2008. Breakfast snacks will be served and newspapers provided (all free of charge). This is also an opportunity to get advice about issues that might concern you, find out about local services or simply have a cup of tea and a chat with other residents.

Children needed to join new Forum
Sunday, 13 April 2008

Calling children in Dunkirk and Lenton! We would like to set up a brand new Children’s Forum. This would allow children to talk about the local area and identify what sort of facilities and activities are needed. Anyone aged 5 or over can come along but it is important to ask a parent or carer for permission first of all.

Contact Fiona Corbett at the Forum office for further details.
