What is the Involving Communities Project? The Involving Communities Project (ICP) is a key project linking a collection of community organisations in Nottingham. There are eight independent local area partnerships and a Bilborough Development worker that work in local communities with residents and voluntary groups. The other two partners are Nottingham Community Network and Nottinghamshire Black Partnership. These organisations work in all areas of the city to make sure the needs of voluntary and community groups are explained to policy and strategy decision makers, such as the Council. They also tell voluntary groups about decisions that affect them and their neighbourhoods. All eleven partner organisations work together in the Involving Communities Project to improve the lives of people in Nottingham. This project gives the organisations more influence over important neighbourhood decisions and gives each one a stronger voice. You can get involved by speaking to your local area partnership, Nottinghamshire Black Partnership or Nottingham Community Network. Try coming along to a voluntary sector open meeting or registering to receive a free weekly email newsletter with important local information by logging onto: www.ngcn.org.uk The Involving Communities Project is funded through One Nottingham. |
