Unity House

ImageWhat is Unity House?

It is a community voluntary association, operated by Holy Trinity Church with the aim of bringing the community together in various activities.

Main Activities:

  • Under Fives
    Every Monday, from 9:30am to 12pm and 1pm to 3:15pm, Unity House hosts a center for children under five to play and learn with other children of their own age, whilst parents and volunteers supervise. There is a cost of £0.30p per adult and £0.20p per child.
  • Story Club
    Every Wednesday during term time, from 3:30 to 4:45pm, a Story Club is held with the aim of helping children to develop reading skills. There is a cost of £0.30p per each child.
  • Something Different
    On Saturday, each fortnight, ‘Something Different’ aims to bring together young people (11 to 14 year-olds) from the surrounding area to chat, socialize, learn new skills and try new and exciting activities in a safe environment.  There is a cost of £0.50p per child.
  • Holiday Club / Activity Days
    Every year in August, the Holiday Club takes place for children between five and ten years old. There may be other similar activities held throughout the year, advertised at Unity House.
  • Yos – Yos
    Every Tuesday evening there is a bible study for those 14 to 16 year-olds who are especially interested in learning more about the Christian faith. Junior Alpha courses also run about once a year.

Volunteers are welcome to participate and help the groups Plans for the future: To continue providing the activities by having more staff available and more space into the premises.

Lunch Clubs:

  • On Wednesday – Asian Luncheon Club – from 11am to 2pmImage
    Aimed at meeting the needs of Lenton’s Asian community (Sihks, Hindus and Muslims), to come along to meet, eat and socialise together. Those from other ethnic groups are also welcomed. This Club is run by Lenton Care Link.
  • On Fridays – Open House - from 9:30 am to 14:00 pmImage
    Aimed at getting together all kinds of people from all age groups. There is a toddler's play area and lunches served at a reasonable price:- Soup, Sandwiches, tea or coffee for an average of £0.80p;- A cooked meal in the last day of the month for £1.00;
